My Name is Aalisha Sugur

Aalisha Sugur is an incoming Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering student at Purdue University, an FAA Part 107-certified drone pilot, and a student pilot with 80+ flight hours. Her aviation journey began at the controls of a Cessna 172 and has grown into a focused path spanning flight training, aerospace engineering, leadership, and service.

She has developed practical experience in flight planning, weather interpretation, VFR navigation, aircraft control, and radio communication with air traffic control. Aalisha founded Ridge High School’s first aviation club and DronesToMars, an aerospace initiative created to make drones, uncrewed systems, and technical pathways more accessible.

Aalisha has also served through Civil Air Patrol and mentored younger students in Python, Java, aviation, and STEM. In 2026, she was recognized by the AIAA Foundation and Club for the Future as a Resilient Student Scholar for her resilience, entrepreneurship, advocacy, and commitment to making aviation and space accessible.
