About me

Hi, I’m Aalisha Sugur—an aspiring aerospace engineer, founder, student pilot, and lifelong explorer of everything that flies.

I’m an incoming Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering student at Purdue University, the founder of DronesToMars, an FAA-certified drone pilot, and a student pilot with more than 80 flight hours. My journey has taken me from studying weather reports and aircraft systems to building STEM initiatives, mentoring young aviation enthusiasts, and working toward a future in aerospace.

For me, aviation is more than learning how to operate an aircraft. It is a lesson in discipline, preparation, leadership, and staying calm when conditions do not go exactly as planned. Every flight brings a new challenge—whether I’m interpreting a METAR, calculating weight and balance, practicing emergency procedures, or learning to trust my training when the sky turns gray.

Through DronesToMars and my aviation journey, I want to make aerospace and flight more accessible to other young people—especially students who may not yet see themselves represented in the cockpit, engineering lab, or space industry. I enjoy turning complicated subjects into clear, practical ideas and sharing the successes, lessons, and occasional turbulence that come with learning to fly.

My mission is to combine engineering, entrepreneurship, and aviation to build technologies and opportunities that help shape the future of flight.
